Day 3: Jesus’ Arrival, Love Came Close
“And the Word became flesh and made His dwelling among us.” John 1:14
The older I get, the more I realize Christmas isn’t about perfection... it’s about presence.
Jesus came not to the powerful, but to the ordinary. Not to the perfect, but to the willing. He came into a world full of noise, questions, and need... and He still does.
As my sons grow, life feels fuller and emptier all at once. The house is quieter, the dinners smaller, but my prayers have grown deeper.
And when I think about that night in Bethlehem, I’m comforted.
Because the same God who came to a humble manger still comes near to me, to our family, to every mom who wonders if her small offerings are enough.
They are.
Because love came close. And that changes everything.
Emmanuel, thank You for coming near, for bringing Your light into my home and my heart. As I celebrate Christmas this year, help me carry Your love into every conversation, every memory, every moment. Amen.
My Journal Thought:
How has Jesus shown His nearness to me and my family in this season of change?
