Marriage is cool™ because….. vacation time!!!
Get to go on a vacation with my best friend, away from snow, winter, cold and work. To sunshine, water and complete chill mode.
And the birthday surprise she absolutely could not keep as a secret? That’s love in its purest form. Not because of the gift, but because she’s so excited to make you happy that she literally can’t contain it. That’s best-friend energy. That’s “I’ve known you forever and still get giddy about you.”
Collectively 81 years old soon. That’s not old. That’s seasoned. That’s “we’ve seen some things, survived some things, built some things.”
Looking at a Facebook memory together of our youngest in the backseat with headphones… and now he’s the one dropping you off at the airport so you can go on an adult only vacation…That one hits deep….
Spending some time on grown up vacation with family…especially to spend that time with the “marriage and parent OG’s” …Mom and Dad…That’s legacy. That’s super cool. That’s rare.
We’re not just excited about a vacation. We are aware. We feel the transition. We’re cherishing the past while stepping into this next chapter, together.
New phase. Same team.
And honestly….That’s cool.
